I am very pleased with this converter box. I just received it today and installed it within minutes. I only needed this since my Vizio M series TV (actually called a "Display") doesn't have a built in tuner of any sorts. This met the need perfectly. Out of curiosity, I wanted to see if my internet provider (Comcast) had any un-encrypted channels on their line coming into my house. The IDOO box doesn't have this capability out of the box, but if you message the seller, they will send you a firmware update that includes a QAM for cable-type signals. After installing the update through a flashdrive (FAT32) at the USB port, the box was able to pick up signals on my Comcast line after switching to "Cable" mode in the settings. However, all the signals were unfortunately encrypted, so I plugged my antenna back in, switched to "Air" mode, and was still able to pick up all the local stations in HD 5.1. So, Comcast doesn't have any "free" channels to tap off of, but maybe other providers may have un-encrypted channels. Either way, definitely install the latest firmware. I'm sure there are other bug fixes included in it. I did not need the box for recording purposes, so I am not able to write a review about that right now. Overall, it is a great box, sleek design, and the remote actually looks pretty decent. Customer service with the seller was very excellent as well. They were fast to respond to my message within a day requesting the latest firmware. I will update the review if anything changes.

It works great with the price

This box is small and lightweight. I hook it with the antenna. I have the vizio tv so I connect it with HDMI cable. Compared to my previous broken box, this one can scan and pick up more stations. It has the USB port so I sometimes download the TV program or play music from my USB flash drive. It works great with the price.

Does the job

This thing does the job, I hooked up my local Cable signal and it works fine after a few setting changes.

TV on the Go.

Very easy to hook up. Really nice looking box. Simple remote. We have cable except for one room, so we hook it up in that room, and we take that tv along with that unit on our tailgating and camping trips and it gets really good reception. We get enough channels to sit back and watch some TV, or turn on the game. Just a very easy unit to move around. Five Stars, very mobile and useful even if you have cable.

Just perfect !!!!! CUT the cable !!!

I am now watching tv without CABLE ! I purchased this to use with an older Panasonic TV and it is fantastic! It was easy to do, but the instruction booklet could have been a lot better and bigger..I had to use a magnifying glass to read it! But I am getting 54 stations from around Puget Sound, I live on an Island and was kind of worried about being able to watch anything, My Amazon Fire Stick and Wii and this box and antenna are MARVELOUS !!!! I also emailed a question and I had a reply and great help in a day. That is great costumer service and a really nice change to Comcast! I have all I need for entertainment! Highly recommend the product.

Works

So far so good. If it fails within a year, I will update my review. The remote is of lesser quality, but it currently gets the job done. I don't use this much, I have it to back up some recordings on my outside OTA. Its mainly used as a backup just in case my main one fails. Gotta to know the weather in my area, it can get crazy fast here...

So far so good, I’ve had it connected to my large screen TV for a day now. My old iview got broke by my grandkids, accidentally knocking it off the table. I like the set up on this receiver, it gives more information on screen than my old one. It was very easy to connect to tv & blue ray, about 2 mins to hook everything up. Shipping was 2 days, instructions are easy to follow, no problems.. If anything changes I will come back and update my review. Update review: Last weekend it would not work! So I still had time to return it so I started the return process. Today is Thursday and I have not returned it yet BUT my son told me to unplug it and plug it back in to see if that will help. Shazammm, it’s working!!! Guess it just needed to be reset? Whatever, I’m happy bc I hate returning ANY products I buy!

The converter box works like any other converter box. I was hoping for a stronger over the air receiver built into the box but this will do.
